My Mission: End the early-morning closet staredown. It is not enough to find great pieces for a wardrobe, it is important that these pieces work together. I try to create wardrobes that work for the everyday, but include the fashion-forward, beautiful pieces that make fashion fun!

The Emmy's: Best and Worst Dressed
Best Dressed: I don't know who she is, but what a great look for the Emmy's! What I find especially refreshing is the fact that the hair, makeup, and accessories work perfectly with this gorgeous dress. Simply soft hair and makeup and minimal bling bring the focus to her beautiful face and body. What everyone should aspire to when dressing for the big event.

Aubrey Plaza in Juan Carlos Obando dress.
Best Risk: Not your typical red carpet look, but a stunner. Love the edgy straight hair and modern minimal makeup she paired with this daring, midriff-baring dress. She looks gorgeous!
Worst Dressed: I don't know if this is actually the worst dress, or if it just offends me because it is an exact replica of my prom look, circa 1980.

Zara!! Available Online in the US!!!
One of my favorite stores has opened an online shopping site for the US, finally. I love the store and am so excited I can get the clothes without having to visit a major city. Originated in Spain, Zara is the H & M for adults. Reasonably priced, great quality clothing that is always spot on trend. At www.zara.com you can find all the major fall 2011 trends: colorblocking, fur, leather, a-line minis, and contrasting collars.

Fall Fashion Focus: The Collar
Every season, the fashion world focuses on a new part of the body or a new part of an outfit. This is what keeps fashion fresh and current. This season, the focus is on the collar. Lot's of interesting collars - fur, funnels, deep, deep v's, and contrasting color. Keep in mind, this brings the focus to the face, so keep makeup polished and dramatic. You might want to invest in a good red lipstick.
Here are several examples of the big fur collars seen on the runway for Fall 2011.
